Barack Obama has been against Israel throughout his presidency. Now, the strained relationship between Israel and the US has brought Israeli officials to the brink.
In a new set of tweets, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Obama’s actions at the UN to allow the US to abstain on the vote which put a halt to Israeli settlement on the border between Israel and Palestine as a “shameful ambush,” as per Fox News.
We reject this resolution outright, just as we rejected the UN resolution that determined that Zionism was racism.

After this dreadful vote, David Keyes, a spokesperson for Netanyahu, told Fox News, “We have rather ironclad information from sources in both the Arab world and internationally that this was a deliberate push by the United States and in fact, they helped create the resolution in the first place.”
The worst part is, the White House has admitted that it was Obama himself who made the decision to have U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power abstain from the anti-Israel resolution. Obama is the one to hold accountable for abandoning our most important ally in the Middle East.
However, it appears that the White House is trying to shove blame onto the Egyptians. White House spokesman Eric Schultz said Sunday, “The Egyptians, in partnership with the Palestinians, are the ones who began circulating an earlier draft of the resolution. The Egyptians are the ones who moved it forward on Friday. And we took the position that we did when it was put to a vote.”
For decades, the US and Israel had an understanding that they would not use the UN to decide on issues because “friends don’t take friends to the security council,” Keyes said. Indeed, past Presidents have left the matter to be negotiated bilaterally between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
Keyes and the rest of Israel are looking forward to working with the new Trump Administration because he is clearly more friendly than Obama. Before the anti-Israeli resolution, Trump called on Barack Obama to veto the resolution, which Obama clearly ignored.
Right now, it appears the resolution is merely symbolic. However, Israeli leaders fear that the measure could create increased economic measures such as sanctions to punish Israel for legal settlement activity.
John Kerry, Secretary of State, said that continued attempts to build settlements are risking the possibility of a two-state solution between the Israelis and Palestinians. Remember, this is the same Secretary of State who negotiated our terrible deal with Iran.
“The United States acted with one primary objective in mind: to preserve the possibility of the two state solution, which every U.S. administration for decades has agreed is the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians. Two states is the only way to ensure Israel’s future as a Jewish and democratic state, living in peace and security with its neighbors, and freedom and dignity for the Palestinian people,” Kerry said.
Obama has been a complete foreign policy disaster. Israeli relations are worse, Russia is on the move, ISIS is on the rise, and the world is more vulnerable to terrorists than ever before. This is what happens when you put a first term Senator, who has never run a business, in charge of the White House.
“Things will be different on January 20,” Trump said after the anti-Israel vote.
