If this shocking new report is true, it is now easy to see why we have not defeated ISIS during the Barack Obama presidency. Come January 20, 2017, we will have a President who acts and negotiates from a position of strength and not weakness!
President Barack Obama did not permit the United States Military to perform airstrikes which would have helped blast ISIS off the map, a Washington Free Beacon report indicates. When the pilots were ready and had targets in their sights, Obama nixed the airstrikes a shocking 75 percent of the time!
The facts about Obama’s ISIS actions are now, reportedly, being revealed by United States pilots who are returning from tours in Iraq. The pilots staunchly maintain they couldn’t get clearance to launch strikes against ISIS far too often because of what basically boils down to a public relations issue.
Apparently, fear of collateral damage and politically correct backlash has prevented the defeat of ISIS, according to Republican California Representative Ed Royce, the chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The prevention of civilian deaths abroad weighed more heavily on Obama’s heart and mind than preventing the same such deaths here at home.
“You went 12 full months while ISIS was on the march without the U.S. using that air power and now as the pilots come back to talk to us they say three-quarters of our ordnance we can’t drop, we can’t get clearance even when we have a clear target in front of us,” Royce said. “I don’t understand this strategy at all because this is what has allowed ISIS the advantage and ability to recruit.”
While Obama was out golfing, ISIS was allowed to grow stronger and larger. Civilians fleeing the carnage of the Islamic State have fled to the far reaches of the globe – with ISIS militants likely mixed into the refugee hordes.
When the Pentagon was questioned about the claims made by the pilots and assertions of Royce, Obama’s policy of desperately trying to avoid civilian casualties and deaths was vehemently defended.
“The bottom line is that we will not stoop to the level of our enemy and put civilians more in harm’s way than absolutely necessary,” a Pentago official told the Washington Free Beacon. The official went on to claim the military often engaged in flights and doesn’t “strike anything.”
It is surely true not a military plane goes into the air often without a strike on the agenda. But, when the pilots FIND ISIS targets and are armed and ready to take them out, why would a President stop a strike against the enemy?
“The fact that aircraft go on missions and don’t strike anything is not out of the norm,” the official continued. “Despite U.S. strikes being the most precise in the history of warfare, conducting strike operations in the heavily populated areas where ISIL hides certainly presents challenges.”
The official noted the United States is fighting an enemy that does not mind putting civilians at risk. He added the pilots are instructed to use “tactical patience” when fighting ISIS.
The patience of the American people has long since evaporated. Next month, a President willing to take the action necessary to protect the United States and defeat radical Islamic terrorists will be in charge. The world is about to change dramatically for ISIS.
