Donald Trump on Tuesday responded to President Obama calling him unfit to be president by lashing out at Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, saying she and the president have compromised national security.
“She is reckless with her emails, reckless with regime change, and reckless with American lives,” Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, said in a statement.
“Our nation has been humiliated abroad and compromised by radical Islam brought onto our shores. We need change now.”
In a press conference earlier Tuesday, Obama said Trump is unfit to be president and called on Republicans to renounce their support of him.
“If you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?” the president asked.
“There has to come a point at which you say ’enough.’ ”
Trump has most recently come under fire from both sides of the aisle for criticizing the parents of a Muslim American soldier killed in Iraq.
Trump tore into Clinton, tying her to Obama’s policies. He blasted the former secretary of State’s handling of the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi and said that she and Obama “single-handedly destabilized the Middle East, handed Iraq, Libya and Syria to ISIS.”
“Then they put Iran on the path to nuclear weapons,” he said. “Then they allowed dozens of veterans to die waiting for medical care that never came. Hillary Clinton put the whole country at risk with her illegal email server, deleted evidence of her crime, and lied repeatedly about her conduct which endangered us all.”
Trump also blamed Clinton and Obama for murders committed by undocumented immigrants, allowing terrorists to immigrate to the U.S., a slow economic recovery and shipping jobs overseas.
“They have betrayed our security and our workers, and Hillary Clinton has proven herself unfit to serve in any government office,”
