On Sunday, a massive number of veterans and patriots converged on Hampshire College, waving American flags of all sizes. The crowd also sang “God Bless America.”

“They took down my flag—they have a right to that. I’m here to defend their right to do that, but I want them to understand how bad that hurts me,” said veteran Jerry Maguire.

On the eve of Veterans Day, liberal protesters burned the American flag. A new flag was then hoisted into its proper place before the holiday to honor all those who serve and who have served.

“No flag = No taxpayer money,” read some of the signs carried by veterans on the liberal New Hampshire college campus. The college had decided to stop flying Old Glory entirely after complaints of the new flag raising.

“For the students here and the president and board of trustees have risen from what the veterans sacrificed, this flag and not to fly the flag on this campus if you were in some other countries around the world, it would be handled very, very differently,” said local Mayor Domenic Sarno.

Hampshire College representative John Courtmanche said some on campus cherish the American flag, but others view it as a “powerful symbol of fear.”

“I was in Iraq 18 months. I got hurt, spent time at Walter Reed. I came home, and there’s no way I’ll let anyone take down the flag, no way. It means a lot to me and my brothers,” veteran David Soucy told reporters from WWLP.

Courtmanche added that the flag removal was to allow for chats about all the possible meanings seeing the red, white, and blue flying on campus has for students and staff from various backgrounds.

The American flag does not now, nor has it ever, symbolized fear. Only a lunatic liberal would think as much while being protected for voicing such vile thoughts by the rights the flag truly symbolizes.
