For someone who keeps claiming GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump holds strong ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton might want to look in the mirror, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange argued.
Speaking with RT, the hacker and whistleblower explained that Clinton herself was the one with intimate connections with the Russian presidency.
“Hillary Clinton has done quite well strategically to try and draw connection between Trump and Russia because she has so many connections of her own,” he said, adding that regarding Trump, “There is no substantial connection.”
This is why Trump’s repeated attempts to invest in Russia have always failed, to the point that he has never even been able to build a hotel there, according to Assange.
With Clinton, however, the story was quite different.
“There’s an extremely well-documented pattern of when Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, those people, companies, governments who wanted a decision by the secretary of state in their favor, making large donations to the Clinton Foundation or in some cases business deals with the people around Hillary Clinton,” he said.

The WikiLeaks founder than pointed to the example of the Clinton Foundation having received a large donation around the very same time that the former secretary of state signed off on a business deal that handed “20 percent of the U.S. uranium processing rights to a Russian company.”
From the sound of it, Clinton essentially gave the Russians control of one-fifth of U.S. uranium deposits for her own financial gain.
Clearly, she is not a “Kremlin stooge” out to help Russia for Russia’s sake alone, but according to Assange, she is at the very least tied to the Russians in a “much deeper” way than Donald Trump has ever in this lifetime been.
